#Exiftool rename files by date add sub seconds mp4
I did see this question but it didn't help in my case. I am looking to rename files based on CreateDate and CreateTime. Hi, I try to rename MP4 files, file property: Media created, or < ()> to add as a prefix. This is based upon Exiftool FAQ 5 which says 'ExifTool is very flexible about the actual format of input date/time values when writing, and will attempt to reformat any values into the standard format unless the -n option is used.#Exiftool rename files by date add sub seconds how to
but I cant figure out how to do the advanced formatting which needs to go on the end. I think I need something along the lines of: So I was hoping I could somehow use just the first 15 characters of each file as input to write the tags. G means also show the metadata Group to which the metadata tag belongs.

I'm familiar with the basics of Python so was able to tidy up some other naming issues and get the files to a point where the first 15 characters of every file name adhere to the same format. So instead of Create Date you see CreateDate. This causes FILE to be rewritten, and by. Lastly, there are some images which were shot in burst mode and are of the format YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS_001.jpg. To write or copy information, new values are specified with the -TAGVALUE syntax or the -TagsFromFile option. However there are some duplicate filenames (different images though, so I can't just delete the duplicates) which are of the format YYYMMDD_HHMMSS(1).jpg. Exploring my all files I have four cases: 1 - Image with datatimeoriginal and milliseconds Code Select E.g.

The files are in the format: YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.jpg. will add 1 hour and 32 seconds -0:00:10 will subtract 10 seconds -6:00:00 will subtract 6 hours. I've spent a few hours trying to figure out how to do this in ExifTool but haven't managed to get very far unfortunately. Rename photo files to the date recorded by the camera. I would like to use the date contained in the filename to write the tags. I'm using Linux Mint and have about 2,000 images which have either incorrect or missing EXIF Date tags.
